Data protection
Privacy policy
What happens to your data when you visit this website, write to me or book a call. In short: no cookies, no tracking, no analytics, and the fonts are hosted on this site.
1. Who is responsible
The controller under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is:
Viktorija JuskevicaStrelitzer Straße 13, 10115 Berlin, Germany
Email: hello@juskevica.com
For any question about your data, write to the email address above. More details are in the Impressum.
2. Visiting this website
This website is hosted by Vercel Inc., 440 N Barranca Avenue #4133, Covina, CA 91723, USA. When you open a page, your browser sends technical data that the hosting provider processes to deliver the page and keep it secure:
- your IP address
- date and time of the request
- the page requested and the page you came from (referrer)
- browser type and version, operating system
The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR: my legitimate interest in a website that loads reliably and is protected against misuse. Vercel processes this data on my behalf under a data processing agreement (Art. 28 GDPR) and deletes log data after a short period.
Vercel is based in the USA and is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework. Transfers are covered by the European Commission's adequacy decision for certified companies (Art. 45 GDPR). More: Vercel privacy notice.
3. Cookies, analytics and fonts
This website sets no cookies and uses no analytics or tracking tools. The fonts (DM Sans, IBM Plex Mono and Caveat) are stored on this website's own server, so opening a page does not connect you to Google or any other font provider.
4. Writing to me through the contact form
When you send the form, I receive your name, email address and message. I use them only to reply to you and, if we work together, to prepare that work. The form is sent to this website's server at Vercel (see section 2) and passed on to my inbox as an email through Brevo (see section 5). Both process the data on my behalf under data processing agreements. The website itself does not store your message.
The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR, as your message concerns a possible contract, and otherwise Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR, my legitimate interest in answering enquiries. I delete your message once it has been dealt with, unless statutory retention periods apply (for example 6 years for business letters under German commercial and tax law).
5. Writing to me by email
If you email me, I process your email address and the content of your message for the same purpose and on the same legal basis as the contact form.
Emails to @juskevica.com are received by ImprovMX (ImprovMX Incorporated, 8 The Green, Ste D, Dover, Delaware 19901, USA), which forwards them to my inbox, hosted by Google. ImprovMX processes the emails on my behalf under a data processing agreement (Art. 28 GDPR) and is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework (Art. 45 GDPR). My replies are sent through Brevo (Sendinblue SAS, 17 rue Salneuve, 75017 Paris, France), which also processes them on my behalf under a data processing agreement. More: ImprovMX privacy policy, Brevo privacy policy.
6. Booking a call with Calendly
The booking buttons take you to Calendly (Calendly LLC, 115 E Main St, Ste A1B, Buford, GA 30518, USA). Nothing is sent to Calendly until you click one of them. When you book, Calendly processes your name, email address, the time you choose and your answers to the booking questions, and passes them to me so the call can take place.
The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR (steps before a possible contract). Calendly is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework (Art. 45 GDPR). Calendly's own terms and cookies apply on its pages: Calendly privacy notice.
7. The call itself
Calls take place on Google Meet, provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. Google processes the data needed to run the call (such as your name, email address and connection data). The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR. Data may also be processed by Google LLC in the USA, which is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework (Art. 45 GDPR). More: Google privacy policy.
8. LinkedIn
The LinkedIn link is a plain link. No data goes to LinkedIn until you click it. On LinkedIn, the privacy policy of LinkedIn Ireland Unlimited Company applies.
9. Your rights
You have the right to:
- access the data I hold about you (Art. 15 GDPR)
- have it corrected (Art. 16) or deleted (Art. 17)
- restrict its processing (Art. 18)
- receive it in a portable format (Art. 20)
- object to processing based on legitimate interest (Art. 21)
- withdraw any consent you have given, with effect for the future (Art. 7 (3))
To use these rights, email me. You can also complain to a data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR). For me, that is the Berlin Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information (Berliner Beauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit), Alt-Moabit 59-61, 10555 Berlin, datenschutz-berlin.de.
10. Other points
You don't have to give me any personal data. Without it, I just can't reply to a message or hold a call. I don't use automated decision-making or profiling. This website uses TLS encryption (https), so data you send through it can't be read by third parties on the way.
